On Satthe all the user groups were seen actively setting up their head quarters, registration desks and so on. The hands-on labs are being setup. The conference committees are taking the guided tours to give them membership base a superior experience.

The entire Denver Conference center will be used for the conference and the spill over sessions go to Hyatt, which is right next doors on the big blue bear side of the convention center. The convention center has three levels, the street level where you register, the upper exhibit level and the lower level where labs etc will be held. The unconference is the new feature this time and BIWA SIG will host the Business Intelligence case study related session.

Gartner spends a lot of time reviewing the major Business Intelligence platform vendors and talking to the users of BI to come up with the updates in the Magic Quadrant. Here is the latest one released in Feb 2012. As you can see the notables in the Leaders Quadrant are Oracle taking the top stop in ability to execute with OBIEE and BI Applications (OBIA)  and IBM establishing itself as the visionary with Cognos and related offerings. Down the Memory Lane - BIWA SIG to BIWA Users Community to Analytics & Data Summit 2018

Let us go down the memory lane, it all started in 2006, soon after Oracle acquired Siebel . While Siebel was well known for CRM, the Siebel Analytics helped to get Oracle on the BI map. Mid-2006, was a good time to start a Special Interest Group (SIG) with focus on Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. Same year Oracle acquired Synopsis    (Oct 2006) and then Hyperion in 2007.  The Technology-centric User Group - IOUG  facilitated the start of the DWBI SIG. DBBI SIG's first public appearance was in NYOUG 's summer and fall events in New York. Then this SIG was invited to present a session at Oracle Openworld 2006, in the Sunday User Group Day. After Oracle Openworld, Charlie Berger joined hands with this SIG, and brought along his rich experiences from the Life Science Group called OLSUG .
