Oracle Openworld 2015 is almost here

Oracle Openworld (OOW) 2015 is almost here!  My day starts tomorrow where I am volunteering in JavaOne4Kids - Lego Mindstorms Programming 4 Kids and  Hands-on IoT workshop using Growbot sensors for kids 10-18 year old. My speaking sessions start from Sunday when I speak on Intelligent Cities and Communities powered by emerging field of IoT.  On Monday, I talk about Industrial Internet and Brilliant Factories at 11 am. Monday goes late for us to JavaOne Birds of Feature session at 8pm (130 + have pre-registered for it already.   Look forward to catching with my many old friends as I join my 11th OOW! IOUG Forum - Collaborate 2015 (April 12-16)

This will be my 12th IOUG Forum next week! I have attended IOUG Forum since 2003, which is prior to 2006 when it morphed into Collaborate with IOUG, OAUG and Quest joining hands. So why do I attend Collaborate every year and look forward to it even after a decade? The IOUG Forum at Collaborate is the meeting ground for all Oracle users and Technologists. It is one of the best Professional Networking event for Oracle Practitioners. Real world customers are vocal about that worked and what did not (and how they overcame it), in an environment what is free from Oracle Marketing pitches. Oracle Data Science / IoT Certificate at BIWA Summit Jan 27-29, 2015

Due to popularity of the Oracle Data Science Certificate Program from the prior 2 years, we will offer the same this year. The BIWA Summit along with Spatial Summit and NoCOUG Winter Conference takes place at Oracle HQ, Jan 27-29, 2015. In order to earn the Oracle Data Science / IoT Certificate, the registered attendees of the event, can attend 4 of the 8 suggested sessions and then take the online test. We look forwarding to seeing you  next Tuesday  at the Oracle Conference Center at 350 Oracle Parkway, Redwood Shores, CA.  This post contains some important information that will help you get the most out of the conference. Bring a Computer to Participate in Hands on Labs   If you are interested in participating in the Hands On Labs at BIWA Summit 2015,  you will need to bring a laptop.  The lab sessions will be run with Remote Desktop for most of the labs or VNC. Most Windows operating systems have a remote desktop client pre-installed that will work. The  VNC Viewer client  is free and open source and we will have it on thumb drives for those classes. If you are using a Macintosh, Linux, or an iPad or other tablet, there are many different clients available for both Remote Desktop and VNC.
