Data Mining for fighting terrorism and other crimes is increasing becoming popular. Oracle has a solution for Law Enforcement Agencies - called Oracle Protect. It is a BI solution that runs on top of agencies crime record management system and uses BI Dashboards, Spatial technology to plot the crimes geo-spatially and couples it with use of Oracle data mining to look for crime sprees.

 The Analytics and Data Summit took place at Oracle Conference Center at Redwood City, CA from March 14-16. This in-person event restarted after a gap of 3 years. This event is organized by Analytics and Data Oracle User Community (AnDOUC). This event used to be called BIWA Summit and started in 2007, the first one was in the Oracle office at Reston, VA. It outgrew the size of the facility and moved to then Oracle HQ, at Redwood Shores in 2008. This year's Analytics and Data Summit, was spread over 3 days, with mainly the Hands on Labs and Product Manager feedback sessions on the 3rd day. This year the top level sponsors were Rittman Mead and Informatica. The event started on Tue with a Keynote titled "Gut Check - The True Value of Becoming a Data  Driven Organization" by Derek Hayden of OUTFRONT Media. Analytics and Data Summit Mar 20-22, 2018 is Almost Here!

The Analytics and Data Summit starts next week on Tuesday, Mar 20th, 2018.  This event was formally called BIWA Summit. BIWA SIG started as IOUG SIG in 2016, and first BIWA Summit was held in 2007 in Reston, VA. Starting 2007, it moved to West Coast, to Redwood City. BIWA SIG is now an independent User Group of Oracle and is now called BIWA User Community .
